Celebrating the end of another month with a new design. The Adrian is now live on Ravelry, ladies and gents!
This hat is a new design of mine featuring a basic 2x2 rib and a gorgeous cable panel along one side. It is simplicity and elegance: an everyday favorite combined with a touch of detail, just enough to make this hat that much more special! It can be worn as is or with the brim folded, giving this hat two different looks altogether!
This book is so stunning; you don’t need to be a knitter for it to be a constant source of inspiration. It didn’t take very long for me to fall in love with this cable motif that she calls Rib Blossom. Once I had the detail, the rest of the pattern sort of materialized for me. I knew I wanted simple elegance with a little bit of something. And Norah provided me with the exact little bit of something I needed!
Cables love solid neutrals. And when I pictured this pattern in my head, I knew it needed to look and feel like a piece of the cloud. The yarns I’ve been working with when developing the Oysters and Purls yarns have that exact feel to them. And because of the placement of the cable panel and the number of rows I needed to make it work, the DK weight seemed to be the perfect match! I didn’t even dye the yarn, I just wanted to use it in its most bare form. The sample pictured here used up most of a full skein of yarn. It knit up so beautifully, and it wears like a cloud around your head!
